Fierro Jr. grew up in Lawndale Ca. Angel
grew up very athletic playing a variety of sports
competitively in high school, such as football,
baseball, basketball and tennis. Angel attended
Los Angeles Harbor College on a baseball scholarship
where he was noticed by some major league scouts
to pitch in the minor leagues. Due to an injury
his dream of playing in the major leagues was
cut short.
Angel was first introduced to the game of golf
in 1996. He knew he was hooked from the first
time he picked up the clubs. He decided then to
make a career change and took a job at a driving
range where he practiced 4 to 6 hours a day fine-tuning
his skills. This set the foundation to becoming
the player he is today, a scratch golfer.
Angel aspired to be a Golf Professional and in
1999 he was given the opportunity to work at the
prestigious Brentwood Country Club. Working at
Brentwood Country Club he became a P.G.A. certified
club fitter. He is certified with major manufactures
such as Callaway, Titleist, Taylor Made, Cobra
and Ping and over the past 5 years he has fit
hundreds of players of all skill levels. In 2003,
he was nominated for the Callaway club fitter
of the year award. He is currently a P.G.A. apprentice
working toward his class ‘A’ membership.
